Neda was and is a symbol for the yearning all people have to be free. Free to have their voices heard. Free to think for themselves. Free to choose their own paths in life. Free to speak up when they disagree with their government. Free. This woman and her compatriots and their cries for freedom were abandoned and ignored by the current winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace.
RIP Neda.
RIP Noble Peace Prize

Magnificent choice, Dede. Wonder if the committee even considered Neda, or were they too scared of Iran?

Yes, very good choice Dede.
Neda made me think of Benazir Bhutto which in turn made me think they should have given it to all the oppressed women of the Middle East.
That would have been a strong message. Maybe Time Magazine could name them Women of the Year.
